Panzerkorps Grossdeutschland:  A Pictoral History
Helmuth Spaeter

The great an increasing interest in photographic documentation of the
operations of the GD units during World War II inspired the publishers,
and the GD Tradition Association to prepare a new and inclusive
pictorial work on the course, and the fate of the Grossdeutschland
Panzerkorps.

Helmuth Spaeter has examined and organized these photos and thus
placed the main emphasis of his photo-documentation on portraying
the battles between 1942-1945, with the additional intention of better
portraying the “sister units” that were handled in a less supportive
manner in earlier publications.  Now, all five divisions, and the panzer
corps that have borne the name of “Grossdeutschland” are presented
thoroughly in photos and text.

Over 500 photos are included in this unique new book.  The emphasis
of the documentation offers all readers interested in the history of the
Grossdeutschland Panzerkorps and excellent overview of the sometimes
scattered battle scenes of the various Grossdeutschland units toward
the end of the war.

This volume takes on a special value by including a complete chapter on
the holder’s of the Knight’s Cross in the GD, portraying them more
thoroughly than ever before in photos and text.

With this photographic documentation, the exciting pictorial material and
the precise texts, a first-class portrayal of war history has been created
which will rank among the outstanding books on World War II.
